Noam Talmud is headed by haredi rebel leader Rabbi Shmuel AuerbachA rosh yeshiva of young boys in the Noam Talmud yeshiva in the Shaarei Chesed neighborhood of Jerusalem was arrested yesterday morning along with the rosh misivta (head of the high school) for allegedly savagely beating students, Behadrei Haredim reported.

Noam Talmud is headed by haredi rebel leader Rabbi Shmuel Auerbach, and is affiliated with Yeshiva Maalot Torah, which is also headed by Auerbach.

One of the high school students called police after the rosh misivta savagely beat a student in front of the entire class. The rosh misivta was arrested shortly afterward.

Later in the day, police arrested the rosh yeshiva for allegedly assaulting three other students.

Both the rosh yeshiva and rosh misivta denied any connection with the beatings.

The rosh misivta also allegedly called a student "stupid, retarded and an idiot" because he kept asking to be given a study partner like other students had.

When the boy’s father asked the boy to try one more time to get a study partner, he did so – and the rosh misivta reacted savagely.

The rosh misivta allegedly threatened to expel the boy from yeshiva. The boy responded that if for he is expelled from yeshiva for asking for a study partner, he will leave so with respect, with his head held high. Fellow students burst into laughter, which further angered the rosh misivta, and he exploded and began beating the boy in front of the class.

The father went to the yeshiva and protested against the treatment of his son, to no avail.

So they decided that they will go to Auerbach's house and ask him to resolve the problems.

Auerbach was allegedly shocked to hear that his staff was violent toward the students. He decided that the rosh misivta will leave for vacation until the end of the school year.

The boy’s father claims that he and his son did not call police.
