Pastor Leo Akpan, Glorious Christian Assembly of God Church, Arrested for Soliciting a ProstituteDAYTON -- A local pastor is facing charges of soliciting a prostitute. Dayton detectives arrested 43-year-old Leo Akpan after an undercover sting operation.

According to the police report, Akpan looked up an ad on Backpage.com.

He then drove to a gas station on the corner of Woodman and Burkhardt to meet up with who he thought was a prostitute, but was really an undercover officer.

According to a police report, Akpan claimed to be a pastor, and was only trying to convert the so-called prostitute.

"I'm a little shocked, I mean , I know he's a pastor," said a neighbor who wanted to remain anonymous.

According to the Secretary of State's office, Akpan is a pastor of the Glorious Christian Assembly of God Church.

We wanted to find out where the church was that his name was attached to, but the address we found led us to an apartment complex in Huber Heights.

Akpan lived in that complex in 2009.

The Secretary of State's office had another address for the church, which led us to his current home in Englewood.

We knocked on the door, and a woman behind the closed door asked who it was and denied comment.

For neighbors though, the charges against him are appalling.

"Doing the Lord's work, I'm not at all religious but I believe in a higher power, and you shouldn't be doing something like that," said the neighbor.

According to the police report, the suspect doesn't have any previous prostitution-related convictions.
