Pastor Gussie Smith who was a pastor at the Church of Jesus, was arrested for trafficking of Oxycodone UMATILLA, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) - Gussie Smith has been a pastor at the Church of Jesus in Umatilla for years.  The 77-year-old grandmother is well known in the community.  What they didn't know is that federal and county law enforcement officers were investigating Smith related to the trafficking of Oxycodone.

Smith was arrested on Wednesday but out of jail by Thursday.  She was resting at her home when a FOX 35 News crew arrived, but her family wouldn't let us anywhere near her.

We asked, "You don't have anything to say about your grandmother?" Family members responded, "It's none of your business."

The arrest was part of a drug enforcement agency's bust in Lake County in which 16 people were arrested, some for selling drugs near a place of worship.  Neither federal drug agents, nor the Lake County Sheriff's Office would release details in Smith's arrest.

Juline Cropper, a woman who attends Smith's church said,  "She's a nice lady. She has always been nice to me.  She's popular in town. She's been here a good while."
