Pastor Robert Kenneth “Bobby” Gass, 60, and founder of Baypoint Community Church arrested againTEXAS CITY, Texas — A former Texas City pastor who lost his church soon after a December arrest on drug and assault charges was charged again, this time with driving while under the influence.

Robert “Bobby” Gass, 61, was pulled over in the 3500 block of Palmer Highway at about 12:45 a.m. Thursday after an officer noticed Gass’ vehicle “weaving,” the police report states. After conducting a field sobriety test, police suspected Gass to be under the influence.

When Gass, the founder and former lead pastor of the defunct Baypoint Community Church, refused to give a blood sample, police arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence. During a pat down, the arresting officer reported he found a crack pipe stuffed in Gass’ left sock. He also found a pair of knives, according to the report.
